  • Overview

    Provides legal advice and services on issues concerning the rights, obligations and privileges of the organization. Represents the organization to customers, suppliers, competitors and government agencies. Provides resolution of business or technical issues by identifying legal solutions and recommending a course of action. Examines legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuits.

    Responsibilities

    - The candidate will be responsible for overseeing various legal issues associated with the Travel industry, which includes relationships with travel program clients in global and regional markets.
    - Ensure that the company meets the legal requirements of all the host locations in which it does business.
    - Ensure that all compliance requirements are being met in “seller of travel” states including registration programs and financial security requirements for travel companies
    - Develop travel industry policies and contracts that reflect business goals and the specific conditions in which Rovia operates.
    - Help develop agreements, waivers, and guidelines to guide the business’ interactions with customers, vendors, and other third parties.
    - Advise the business on operational and government regulatory matters, commercial negotiations and disputes, licensing and finance matters, safety and maintenance issues and service agreements.
    - Advise on Travel Technology legal issues such as back-office systems, booking/notification infrastructures, website structure, data protection compliance, protection of intellectual property
    - Regularly advise business leaders and other members of the business on legal and regulatory matters relating to travel.
    - Primary lead for drafting, reviewing and negotiating customer travel agreements, data privacy agreements, and other related agreements, working closely with internal teams and negotiating with external customers.
    - Key executor for contract processing to achieve greater efficiencies and develop innovative ideas to execute transactions.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree, JD degree, and state license to practice. Travel industry experience is a must.  10+ years corporate legal experience. 7+ years experience in a compliance role, compliance certification preferred. Excellent writing and communication skills. Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
